POETRY

I write poetry.

I think, at all times of my life, each poem I write will never truly be finished. Until one is printed onto paper somewhere in the world, and likely afterwards too, I will always be editing poems. Throughout the few years that I have come to learn about myself as a writer, I know now that I am an editor and, as a result, that the entirety of my work will always be subject to further revision. Amidst pages of edits and tiny detail-based modifications, some of my work remains here for you to read. I have only recently been introduced to poetry and, quite frankly, I’ve fallen deeply in love. I adore what poetry allows: the vagaries or explicit details, the playful sounds, and the control of breath in something as simple as a line break. In continuing to learn about my identity as a writer, I am slowly but surely becoming aware of my identity as a poet. Poetry speaks to me and I simply allow myself to have the conversation. These, it seems, are the transcripts.
